For several years, pizza has become the most-bought gastronomic dish in Poland. Even serious restaurants are eager to invest in equipment needed to bake pizzas, and it is no surprise that they pay a lot of money and the investment in equipment pays off quickly. The biggest and most important investment is, of course, the purchase of a professional pizza oven.

Italian pizza masters insist that wood-fired ovens are the best. Meanwhile, manufacturers have made an effort to create their gas counterparts that cook very smoothly, are cheap to use and certainly more convenient. We will tell you about the advantages and disadvantages of gas-fired pizza ovens in this article.

GP | Gas pizza oven – characteristics

A gas pizza oven is an oven with a specialized structure that allows you to bake one or more pizzas at the right height and temperature. Why is it so important? First of all, because every pizza is different. It contains different ingredients, has a completely different dough, both in terms of structure and thickness. Hence, each pizza should be baked differently. A characteristic feature of a gas oven is the possibility of very easy control of both the temperature and the heat flow.

The gas pizza oven is powered by gas. Its consumption is so large that it is impossible to supply it with a gas cylinder and it is definitely necessary to connect it to the gas network. It has several floors, a specialized thermostat and temperature flow control devices. Gas stoves, thanks to the use of efficient burners, perfectly cope with rapid heating of surfaces inside, as well as with cooling thanks to specialized fans.

GP | Advantages and disadvantages of gas-fired pizza ovens

The gas pizza oven has advantages and disadvantages. Let's start with its weaknesses as it will be easier to move on to the positive later:

  • gas furnaces must be powered from the gas network, not everywhere and it is not always possible to connect to this type of network,
  • gas furnaces must have very regular and scrupulous inspections for safety reasons,
  • a high-class flue and specialized ventilation ducts are required for the gas furnace,
  • a gas-fired pizza oven certainly does not give a pizza aroma as perfect as a wood-fired oven.

So much for the disadvantages of gas stoves, but there are also many advantages:

  • gas stoves are very comfortable to use thanks to specialized automation,
  • have precise control of both the temperature and the warm air circulation,
  • gas stoves are extremely functional and, thanks to specialized control systems, also very comfortable,
  • gas stoves are definitely more efficient, which means that the processing can be much bigger,
  • gas stoves do not contaminate quickly and do not emit unpleasant odors, as is the case with, for example, the wrong wood,
  • a gas pizza oven can be large as well as smaller sizes, it does not require a special hearth, so it does not take up such a large area
