A refrigerated cabinet is a device that combines the capabilities of a refrigerator or refrigerator with an exhibition site. It is a device that is most often made of steel and has a glass front door, which can simultaneously cool and display food in a grocery store, restaurant, pub or any other place where food or drinks need to be kept at the right temperature.
Refrigerated cabinets are becoming more and more popular, modern construction, wide possibilities and application in many industries make these devices very eagerly bought and used interchangeably with refrigerators and coolers.
GP | Refrigerated cabinet - structure and mode of operation
A refrigerated cabinet is the equivalent of a refrigerator, with the difference that in a modern refrigerated cabinet, the temperature can be relatively precisely controlled at certain levels. In addition, refrigerated cabinets stand out in two versions. One of them is a version with a classic door, resembling a door for a refrigerator or a classic wardrobe. The second, however, also serves as an exhibition space and the doors in it are glass doors.
A refrigerated cabinet differs from a refrigerator in terms of technology. Each level in a refrigerator has the ability to set the temperature relatively precisely. This means that in the cabinet at the lowest level, the temperature can be even a few degrees lower than at the highest level, and the temperature differences between the individual levels are relatively high and well preserved. Therefore, the refrigerated cabinet has its zones, the classic refrigerator does, but the temperature differences and insulation are not so significant.
The very construction of a refrigerated cabinet does not differ much from the construction of a typical refrigerating device such as a refrigerator or a cold store. Everything is done with the help of a so-called heat pump, which is basically a reverse heat pump, where cold air is forced inside by fans and warm air is extracted from the inside.
GP | Refrigerated cabinet - possibilities and advantages of use
What are the possibilities of using a refrigerated cabinet? Very similar to a refrigerator, except that the refrigerated cabinet offers a much wider spectrum of temperature control. By means of separate zones, it is possible to set the temperature from almost zero to 10 degrees Celsius, which makes it easier to store food, so that the food not only does not deteriorate, but also retains its taste and texture. Hence, refrigerated cabinets are often used to store cakes and pastries.
The advantages of using refrigerated cabinets are also many, here are a few of them:
- the possibility of storing a wide variety of products in a refrigerator, from meats and meat dishes, through dairy products, baked goods, as well as drinks,
- the ability to control the temperature in such a way that the products retain their consistency and taste,
- the possibility of displaying food, thanks to the use of glass doors in refrigerated cabinets,
- the ability to control the air circulation, which is also difficult in the case of classic refrigerators, and some food products simply require it,
- refrigerated cabinets are very energy-efficient and this is their unquestionable advantage over other cooling devices.
Due to its design and advantages, the refrigerated cabinet can be used almost everywhere where there is a need to store food at regulated temperatures. The ability to cool perishable products, bread, baked goods, cakes, milk, dairy products, and even meat and ready meals, make refrigerated cabinets applicable in the commercial, food and catering industry. The possibilities of their use are enormous, so there is also a huge demand for them.
